What hardwoods do you offer?
Our hand-crafted Amish furniture is made from 100% solid-milled hardwoods. You may choose from quarter-sawn white oak, red oak, cherry, brown maple, hard rock maple, hickory or walnut. See Hardwoods.
Can I choose the type of finish?
Once you choose your hardwood, you can choose a natural finish with no coloration added or select from up to 16 stain samples for each hardwood. The furniture then receives a top coat using a oil/poly blend finish or a conversion varnish. See Finishes.
What is the difference between an oil and varnish finish?
An oil finish penetrates deep into the wood. We recommend that you apply an oil polish every six months to replenish the piece. An oil finish is very user friendly, minor scratches and dents can be repaired by the owner. A varnish finish is like a clear paint, it sits on top of the wood. It requires very little if any maintenance, simple cleaning and dusting.
